Bar Adebayo Shittu, The Fiwagboye Of Ibadanland

Bar Adebayo Shittu, The Fiwagboye Of Ibadanland.

Worthy and widely accepted, even extremely gladly accepted, Olubadan of IbadanIand Oba Saliu Adetunji has just proves again his highly esteem integrity to the poupulace of Ibadanland, showing that his kingship is apolitical with free and fair rulling systemic and unbaisedness.
Its traditional right of Olubadan to behold and critically observe that God had given to us a beautiful world and decorate with people of integrity and dignty, now depend on us how to manage one another as resourcefull element to develop our society. My unreserved appraise to his imperial majesty Oba Adetunji for count on the good past of Bar Adebayo and reward him with such an Honorary.
A dignitarian like Bar Adebayo Shittu, honorable minister communication worthy to be noted for his frontier position on comtemporary issues and development of Oyo state and Nigeria in general.
During the reign of Oba Asanke, when Chief MKO Abiola was honored as Bashorun of Ibadanland, some political partisans not excluding the then state government came up with criticism but the reputable Olubadan Oba Asanke stood out and made his decision clear.
Afterwhile, Bashorun MKO Abiola made it and had a remarkable achievement both politically and as a bussiness man across the country and later became pride for the society.
Our imperial majesty, Oba Saliu has repeat the beautifull scenario for us and highlight the another glory in the historic book as honourable minister for communication will be entitled as FIWAGBOYE OF IBADANLAND.
As we are overwhelm with joy and excited for another philantropist as chief, I know our ancestors will be glady by now for promoting our culture.. May God bless our Ibadanland.

IBADAN EMPIRE; Still on KIRIJI WAR, longest civil war in the word

The Ibadan empire With Ijaiye disposed of, Ibadan was free to consolidate its empire in the east. Between 1847 and 1870, large areas of Ijesha, Igbomina, Ekiti and Akoko came under Ibadan control (Akintoye, 1971: 33-75). Initially, this was in response to the threat from Ilorin. Some of the Osun towns like Osogbo had willingly come under Ibadan protection. More force was used in the subjugation of the towns further to the east. The Ijesha proved difficult to control. While Ibadan was occupied with the Ijaiye war, the Ijesha attacked them from the east. They were beaten off, and the Ibadan capture of Ilesha in 1870 marked the high point of Ibadan power (Akintoye, 1971: 56-60). The subordinate towns controlled by Ibadan came to be administered through officials called Ajele, a system similar to that of the former Oyo empire (Awe, 1964). Each of the towns was the responsibility of a “babakekere” in Ibadan, who administered through an Ajele in the town it...
